SynDrivers Software License Agreement
Last updated: 2026-09-12
- You are buying a license to use a driver on one Crestron Home processor, not the software itself.
- Each key is node-locked to that processor's MAC address. A product sold as a bundle (for example UniFi Protect Viewport + Camera Grid) delivers one key per driver part; the parts license together on the same processor.
- Moved the processor, or typed the MAC wrong? File a License issue ticket and we re-issue the key by hand. There is no self-service transfer.
- Evaluate first: every driver runs in trial mode with no key installed. Once a key is minted, sales are final (see Refunds & trials).
- No reverse engineering, no redistribution of packages or keys, no circumventing the license check.
1. Parties and scope
This Software License Agreement (the "Agreement") is between SynDrivers LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("SynDrivers," "we," "us"), and the person or business that installs a SynDrivers license key or driver package ("you"). It covers every driver, extension and utility we publish for Crestron Home (each, "Software"), together with its license keys, documentation and updates. Your use of the syndrivers.com website and your purchase are additionally governed by our Terms of Service. Installing a key or a package means you accept this Agreement.
2. License grant
Subject to this Agreement, SynDrivers grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable (except as set out in §5), revocable license to install and run the licensed Software on one Crestron Home processor per license key. The key is cryptographically bound to that processor's hardware address (MAC) at the time it is issued and will not validate on another processor. A license covers the licensed Software on that processor regardless of how many devices, rooms or users the processor controls.
Where a product is sold as a bundle of more than one driver part, one purchase issues one key per part, each bound to the same processor. A part that requires another part (for example an extension that requires its base driver) is licensed only for use alongside that part on that processor.
3. Trial use
Software runs in trial mode when no license key is installed, so that you can evaluate it on your own processor before buying. Trial behaviour, including any time limit and what happens when it ends, is described on each product's page and may differ between products. Trial mode is licensed for evaluation only; using trial mode to avoid buying a license for a processor that is in service for a client is not permitted.
4. What you may not do
You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:
- copy, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, lend or otherwise redistribute the Software, a driver package or a license key, except to install it on the processor it is licensed for;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
- modify, patch or create derivative works of the Software, or remove or alter any notices in it;
- bypass, disable, forge or otherwise circumvent the license check, trial limits or key format, or share a key with anyone other than the operator of the licensed processor;
- use the Software in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights.
5. Transfers and corrections
Because keys are node-locked and the installed Software validates them offline, we do not offer a self-service transfer. If a processor is replaced, or the MAC address was entered incorrectly at purchase, file a License issue ticket from the account that bought the license. SynDrivers will re-issue the key for the new processor at no charge for a correction or for the first replacement of a failed or decommissioned processor, provided you confirm that the original processor is no longer running the Software. Further transfers are at our discretion and may be declined or charged. A re-issued key supersedes the original, which must not be used.
6. Updates and support
A license includes updates to the licensed Software that we choose to publish for the same major version, and configuration-and-setup support as described on our Support page (one business day, US business hours). Work beyond setup and configuration — for example custom programming, on-site work or integration with equipment we do not list as supported — is not included and may be offered as paid hours. We are not obliged to keep any driver compatible with every future Crestron Home release or third-party firmware, though we work to do so for supported products.
7. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. SynDrivers and its licensors own all right, title and interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights. Crestron, Crestron Home and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners; SynDrivers is an independent developer and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Crestron Electronics or any device manufacturer unless a product page says so.
8. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refunds & trials policy. In short: evaluate in trial mode first; once a key has been issued to a processor, the sale is final except where consumer law requires otherwise.
9. Disclaimer of warranty
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SynDrivers disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any particular device, firmware, network or Crestron Home release. You are responsible for evaluating the Software in trial mode before relying on it in an installation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SynDrivers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, service calls, downtime or the cost of substitute products, arising out of or related to the Software or this Agreement, however caused. Our total liability for all claims relating to a license will not exceed the amount you paid for that license. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places these limits apply to the fullest extent allowed.
11. Termination
This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach §4 or fail to cure any other breach within 30 days of notice. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete every copy and key. Sections 4 and 7–13 survive termination.
12. Changes
We may update this Agreement as the product catalog grows. The version published at syndrivers.com/legal/license/ at the time you purchase a license is the one that governs that license; material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
13. Governing law and contact
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Questions about this Agreement: [email protected].
