What we collect

When you purchase a driver license, we collect the information needed to fulfill and support that license: your email address, order details, and the device/processor identifiers required to issue and validate your license key. When you download the free Protect Streams Utility, we collect only the contact information you choose to provide.

The Protect Streams Utility desktop app

The Protect Streams Utility app does not collect telemetry, analytics, or usage data, and it does not send your API keys, passwords, or camera data to SynDrivers or anyone else. It communicates only with the UniFi Protect console you point it at, on your own network. The only requests it makes to syndrivers.com are an optional check for a newer version and the Help links you open yourself. Any credentials you choose to save stay on your PC, encrypted with Windows Data Protection (DPAPI) so only your Windows account can read them; you can delete them at any time from within the app or by removing its data folder.

How we use it

We use this information to deliver license keys, provide self-serve recovery of a lost key, notify you of driver updates that affect your license, and provide support. We do not sell your information to third parties.

Payment information

Purchases are not yet available on this site; the buy buttons on driver pages are placeholders. When purchasing is enabled, payment processing will be handled by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers ourselves.

Data retention

We retain order and license records for as long as needed to support your license, including self-serve recovery, and as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your contact information at any time by emailing [email protected], subject to what we're required to retain for active licenses and legal/accounting obligations.
